Distance, Start of the Ski Marathon & Course
  • 110 km extreme ski marathon starts at 04 a.m. in Sludyanka settlement extending then up the Khamar Daban mountain range and proceeding further down to and along the Utulik river valley to finish near "Utulik" tourist retreat lodge;
  • Gathering and start place in Sludyanka is at the Museum of Minerals.

Participants & Qualifications
  • Advanced marathon skiers having a performance record of at least 4 hr 20 min in a 50-km ski race;
  • People in good health , men and women at least 16 years old and restricted to 60 years of age, well fit and prepared for the ski marathon;
  • Medical certificate qualifying the participants well fit for the ski marathon is required.

Regitsration & Entry Fees
  • Entrye fee is USD 50;
  • Registration deadline is February 20.

Race Bibs
  • Registered participants are requested to collect their race bibs on March, 07 at the Organizing Committee in Sludyanka town.

Ski Trail & Race Description
  • The Start in the neighborhood of Sludyanka town is located at the height of 550 meters above the sea level;
  • The distance runs along the Sludyanka river bank then 25 km proceeding up the Khamar-Daban Mountain range traversing the Chersky Peak at the maximum height of 1800 meters above sea level , further on 15 km down the hill and then running around 70 km along the Utulik river valley;
  • Total distance - 110 km;
  • The ski trail running in high elevations is regarded as an extreme and most difficult one by amateur and professional skiers alike;
  • When passing through the so-called "Chertovy Vorota" ("Evil's Bridge" - the most complicated and difficult part of the race) the trail is additionally marked by rescuers with special signs , and all participants are required to pass this site of the marked ski trail;
  • Those who ignore the marks will be disqualified;
  • The participants are required to check in this site of the trail before 9.30 a.m., March,08;
  • Later participants have to return back to the Hotel of the Museum of Minerals and report about their arrival;
  • Check points with hot drinks and some snacks shall be provided by the Organizing Committee at the 20th, 40th and 80th km of the trail course.

Rescue & Emergency
  • Irkutsk Regional State Emergency & Rescue Committee shall be in charge of providing first aid and rescue services if required.
